FAQ's     (Links at bottom of page)

Q - Can anyone with no previous knowledge of a musical instrument learn to play the Easy-Chord ?

A - Without a doubt - it literally takes a few minutes to learn three or four chords - enough to play many simple songs - and it takes just a few minutes more to learn the seven main chord positions - from there progress is rapid in learning the many other chords that are available.

Q - What about strumming and picking ?

A - In the beginning a simple stroking of the string sensors with the right hand will produce the sounds you want to accompany you or someone else singing or playing another instrument - in time you can develop picking and strumming techniques in much the same way as on a conventional guitar.

Q - Where can I get my favourite songs to play ?

A - There are many websites where you can download thousands of songs with the names of chords above the words - and that is all you need to play your Easy-Chord. The chord names will soon become second nature to you and you will be able to select them very quickly and instinctively with your left hand, while you strum with your right hand and sing along with the Easy-Chord. There are some examples of websites lower down this page.

Q - How do I play chords like C9, C6 and Cm6 ?

A - In the case of C9, playing C major would be OK. 6th chords are a little different - we couldn't put every possible chord on the Easy-Chord it just isn't practical - there's already 108 different chords but if you are playing a song with a 6th chord in you can play a minor 7th which has the same notes. For instance for C6 if you substitute Am7 the notes in the two chords are exactly the same. There is an addendum in the User's Guide to tell you which chords to substitute for these types.

Q - Can I plug my Easy-Chord directly into a guitar amplifier ?

A - Yes, if you set the controls very carefully on both the Easy-Chord and the guitar amp. The output from the Easy-Chord audio jack is quite high but if you turn down the volume on the Easy-Chord it works just fine.
